Project Description

As part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to enhance urban infrastructure and improve the quality of life for its citizens, this project focuses on the technical and engineering supervision of rainwater drainage systems in the cities of Dammam, Khobar, and Dhahran. These efforts are essential in ensuring efficient stormwater management, reducing flooding risks, and promoting sustainable urban development.

The project involves the consultant’s active participation in the handover of work sites, providing critical oversight and guidance for all the following associated projects:

  • Rainwater Drainage and Groundwater Level Reduction for the Year 2019.
  • Completion of Rainwater Drainage Networks and Surface Water Level Reduction in King Fahd Suburb, Dammam – Phase Two.
  • Completion of Rainwater Drainage Networks and Surface Water Level Reduction in King Fahd Suburb, Dammam – Phase Four.
  • Completion of Rainwater Drainage Networks and Surface Water Level Reduction for the Sixth District in King Fahd Suburb, Dammam.
  • Construction of Two Rainwater Drainage Plants in Al-Fakhriyah and Taibah Districts, and Al-Fakhriyah Discharge Line in Dammam.
  • Construction of Rainwater Drainage Networks in Taibah and Al-Nada Districts, Dammam.
  • Construction of Rainwater Drainage Networks in Several Districts of Al-Khobar Governorate – 2022.
  • Rehabilitation of Rainwater Drainage Stations in Dammam – Phase Twelve.

Key tasks include reviewing bill of quantities and survey data to ensure they align with design plans, approving execution drawings, and closely monitoring and supervising each stage of implementation to ensure timely and effective progress.

Through this project, Saudi Arabia continues to invest in its cities, fostering development that benefits both residents and the environment, while upholding the nation’s commitment to modernization and urban sustainability.

Scope of Work

Services Provided:

  • Technical and engineering supervision of rainwater drainage projects in Dammam, Khobar, and Dhahran.
  • Participation in the handover of work sites for all projects.
  • Reviewing and verifying bill of quantities and survey data for compliance with design plans.
  • Approving execution drawings for accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Monitoring and supervising the implementation stages to ensure alignment with project plans and technical standards.
  • Reviewing and approving monthly progress reports and completion percentages.
  • Addressing technical issues encountered at work sites.
  • Coordinating with relevant service entities to obtain necessary permits.
  • Overcoming obstacles and challenges to ensure works are executed as per technical specifications and standards.
  • Preparing and submitting technical reports to the Eastern Province Municipality and the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing.
  • Participating in the preparation of variation orders when required.
  • Preparing and maintaining suspension and resumption records as necessary.
  • Approving as-built plans following project completion.
  • Preparing and participating in the initial handover reports.
