Project Description

The supervision of the following contracts plays a pivotal role in enhancing the infrastructure and urban environment of Al Madinah. These projects are aimed at improving key aspects of the city’s road networks, lighting systems, and essential structures, ultimately fostering better traffic flow, safety, and energy efficiency. From the rehabilitation and maintenance of main roads to the operation of critical tunnels, bridges, and lighting systems, these initiatives are designed to ensure the long-term functionality and sustainability of the city’s infrastructure. Together, these efforts align with Al Madinah’s broader goals of modernization, urban development, and enhanced connectivity:

  • Project to Improve and Raise the Efficiency of Main Roads Within the Urban Area, Contract No. (44017): This project focuses on enhancing the functionality and quality of main roads in the urban area, contributing to improved traffic flow and safety.
  • Project to Rehabilitate and Maintain Main Roads Within the Urban Area of Medina, Contract No. (44004): This initiative involves the rehabilitation and ongoing maintenance of the main roads, ensuring their durability, safety, and optimal performance over time.
  • Project for the Operation and Maintenance of Lighting and Electricity Networks on Main Roads Within the Urban Area of Medina, Contract No. (44102): This project is responsible for maintaining and operating the lighting and electricity infrastructure on major roads, improving visibility, safety, and energy efficiency within the urban area.
  • Project for road markings on main roads, neighborhood streets, and plans, as well as addressing visual pollution in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah., Contract No. (44111): This project involves the painting of main roads, neighborhood streets, and developments, along with addressing visual pollution, ensuring enhanced aesthetics, safety, and functionality within Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah.

These contracts collectively contribute to the modernization of Medina’s infrastructure, supporting its growth and aligning with the goals of enhancing urban living and connectivity.

Scope of Work

Project management for this initiative encompasses technical, administrative, and financial oversight to ensure the project’s successful execution. Key tasks include:

Coordination between the Employer and the Supervising Consultant: Ensuring effective communication and collaboration between the project employer and the supervising consultant, particularly in reviewing the initial plans submitted by the contractor, such as the health and safety plan and the quality plan.

Supervising Site Handover Procedures: Overseeing the process of handing over the site to contractors, ensuring all documentation and requirements are in place for a smooth transition.

Supervising the Review and Approval of the Basic Project Schedule: Ensuring that the contractor’s project schedule is reviewed, adjusted if necessary, and approved, maintaining alignment with the project’s goals and timeline.

Supervising the Review of Contractor Submissions: Reviewing and approving contractors’ submissions, including materials, letters, plans, and permits, to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.

Reviewing Supervision Performance on Site: Monitoring the performance of the supervision team on-site, ensuring quality and adherence to project standards, and managing the inspection request process.

Reviewing and Approving the Monthly Contractor Report: Overseeing the review and approval of the monthly report submitted by the contractor, ensuring accurate progress tracking.

Preparing the Monthly Consultant Report: Preparing and submitting comprehensive monthly reports to the employer, summarizing project progress, challenges, and recommendations.

Holding Weekly and Monthly Follow-up Meetings: Organizing and conducting regular meetings to track project progress, address concerns, and ensure alignment among all stakeholders.

Reviewing and Approving Periodic Contractor Extracts: Reviewing and approving the contractor’s periodic financial and progress extracts, ensuring transparency and proper allocation of resources.

Approving Change Requests: Assessing and approving any change requests submitted by the contractor, ensuring they are justified, properly documented, and aligned with the project’s objectives and budget.
