Job Summary:

The Surveyor is responsible for providing accurate and reliable survey data and services for all phases of road construction projects in Saudi Arabia, from initial site assessments to final as-built surveys. This role demands a strong foundation in surveying principles, exceptional technical proficiency with surveying equipment and software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. The Surveyor ensures projects adhere to regulations, specifications, and quality standards, while also providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive topographic, boundary, and construction staking surveys for road projects.
  • Establish and maintain precise survey control points and benchmarks.
  • Collect and process survey data using advanced surveying instruments and software applications.
  • Prepare detailed survey reports, maps, and drawings to support project execution.
  • Ensure strict compliance with surveying standards, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and construction teams to resolve surveying-related challenges.
  • Proactively monitor site conditions to identify and mitigate potential surveying issues.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all survey data and activities.
  • Provide technical support, mentorship, and guidance to junior surveyors and field personnel.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
  • Professional licensure or certification as a Surveyor is highly preferred.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of practical experience in surveying, with a focus on road construction projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the operation and maintenance of total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, levels, and other surveying equipment.
  • Advanced proficiency in surveying software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
  • Comprehensive understanding of surveying principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Proven ability to accurately interpret survey plans, specifications, and legal descriptions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and procedures relevant to surveying operations.
  • Familiarity with a range of surveying equipment, including total stations (e.g., Trimble, Leica, Topcon), GPS/GNSS receivers (e.g., Trimble, Leica, Topcon), digital levels, data collectors, CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD), field computers/tablets, prisms and reflectors, tripods and surveying rods, measuring tapes, and safety equipment.
  • Prior experience working on projects in the Middle East is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in an Engineering Consultancy is mandatory.
