Site Inspector

The Site Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of road construction projects in Saudi Arabia. This involves conducting regular site inspections, verifying adherence to project plans and specifications, enforcing safety regulations, and documenting findings in detailed reports. The role requires collaboration with contractors and engineers to resolve issues, promote safety, and ensure the successful completion of projects to the highest standards. This position is critical in maintaining quality, safety, and compliance throughout the construction process.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct regular and thorough site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Verify that all construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.
• Identify, document, and report any deviations from project requirements or quality standards, ensuring timely corrective action.
• Prepare detailed and accurate inspection reports, maintaining comprehensive records of site activities.
• Communicate inspection findings clearly and effectively to contractors, engineers, and project managers.
• Collaborate with contractors to resolve any issues or deficiencies identified during inspections, promoting a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
• Monitor safety practices on the construction site, enforce safety regulations, and promote a culture of safety awareness.
• Witness and document material testing and quality control procedures, ensuring the integrity of construction materials.
• Track quantities of materials used and verify payment requests, ensuring accurate project accounting.

Educational Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Certifications such as ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician, NICET Highway Construction Inspection, or similar (preferred).

Required Skills

• 5-7 years of experience in construction inspection, specifically on road construction projects.
• Thorough knowledge of road construction materials, methods, and equipment.
• Strong understanding of quality control and quality assurance principles.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Ability to identify and resolve construction-related problems effectively.
• Proficiency in using inspection software and reporting tools.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment (e.g., Measuring Tape, Level, Laser Distance Measurer, Concrete Test Hammer, Digital Camera, Crack Width Gauge, Inspection Mirror, Moisture Meter, Inspection Checklist/Forms).
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for construction sites.
• Previous experience working on projects in the Middle East (preferred).
• Previous experience working in Engineering Consultancy is mandatory.
